We book the The Tornos Studio
for private reading and documentary shows for visiting tourists. Our
current titles include : Costumes of Awadh, Lucknow Cuisine,
British Raj, Sepoy Rebelion, Courtesans
of Awadh and a few film titles (Umrao
Jaan, Chess Players, Gandhi, Gadar,
Lagaan, Mangal Pandey etc). Not to
mention the refreshments that are
absolutely free. (by appointment, subject to availability)
An exclusive Lunch / Dinner or tea at The Tornos Studio can add a wow factor along with making the visit so very meaningful and intellectually enriching. Meals as low as Rs 600/- per person including beverages.
How about making it a part of the itinerary and treating guests to a
free round of
beverages and refreshments. This sure can enhance the visit feedback.

We can organise a Trunk Show of some exclusive
chikan and zardozi embroidery by
acclaimed designers over a drink along with a documentary on
Avadh Costumes. (we will though take
a 5% from the designers on the stuff
sold, to cover our basic cost)

- Now we are open all days
except Sundays and can open on
Sundays as well, if guest meals
are booked with us.
- We do not charge anything for
private reading or documentary
sessions.
- We can accept maximum 8
persons in The Studio, for
groups more than 8 we can have
exclusive seating (max 20
persons) at The Tornos
Terrace (only in the evenings
or winter afternoons, not for
lunch)
- Meals served here are fresh,
home-cooked exclusive meals as
we are not a restaurant or a
cafe, but do this out of our
love for the city.
- Books or documentaries stocked
at The Tornos Studio are not for
sale and is our private
collection.
- Costs that we charge at times
for meals or trunk shows are
marginal and only to cover the
basics. It does not to
provide for profits.
